Our CSR Policy

ISPAD is committed to conserving resources and minimising its carbon footprint when organizing its annual conference. ISPAD strives to increase its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) whenever conference logistics allow.

This is why ISPAD is:

  • Continuing its efforts on a paperless conference: no final program, no bag insert, no paper posters
  • Continuing its efforts towards a waste-less conference: no congress bag, no giveaways and no disposable water bottles: see more here.
  • Printing its pocket program and its onsite signage on sustainable materials, using recyclable medium and the EFI digital ink-jet technology
  • Implementing digital signage wherever possible
  • Introducing an (optional) Carbon Contribution Fee within the registration process. See more here
  • Organizing its yearly Active @ISPAD 5K Charity Run open to delegates, local population, patients and families with the possibility to make a donation
  • Encouraging local catering resources and recyclable equipment
  • Supporting numerous Travel Grants (almost 130 in total this year!)
  • Renouncing to carpet in its commercial exhibition and is welcoming (reusable) built-in shell schemes booth systems
  • Organizing virtual Poster Tours and using the ODIHO technology that allows the use of personal headsets (instead of disposable devices)
  • Keeping its hybrid format for those who cannot travel or afford the financial effort of an onsite attendance: it opens its audience to a larger community especially in Low- and Lower-Middle Income Countries
  • Encouraging a 50/50 gender mix among its invited speakers and chairpersons
  • Supporting the participation of Patient Advocates through sponsored registrations
  • Sharing numerous joint symposia with Sister Societies to widen the scope of mutual assistance
  • Sponsoring the registration of its pre-conference Science School participants
  • Offering reduced fees to delegates from Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries
  • Giving free access to all to its Media Library and the content of its last scientific program already three months after the end of the conference
  • Choosing hotels within walking distance from its conference venue for its invited speakers and staff to avoid motorcoach transfers
  • Welcoming the commitments made by the CCL and its partners (see more here)
